The Ornamental Parlor Scope (OPS) was a open/limited edition of 5. It is more of a series than an edition as the scopes are all significantly different from each other. They were made after Randy made his own Rose Engine in 2005. There is a significant difference in the degree of ornamental turning between the various scopes because there is a difference in how well different woods take the ornamental turning, the Blackwood and Faux ivory was used for the most heavily ornamentally turned because those materials work really well with the Rose Engine turning.
The turning end has a dry cell, ornamentally turned with a black background.
The cell contains certain frosted, hand lampworked glass made with a new technique for pressed glass that Randy and Shelley called “Shellete”.
They have a 2M/6P mirror system.
